1. Overview

Amazon Associates Dashboard Automator (the "Extension") is a personal productivity tool that automates routine tasks on the Amazon Associates affiliate dashboard. This policy explains what data the Extension accesses, how it is used, and what is never collected.

2. Data the Extension Accesses

• Amazon Associates dashboard pages – The Extension opens and reads pages on affiliate-program.amazon.com to extract performance metrics (clicks, earnings, shipped items), payment history, and commission offer status. This data is read directly from the page DOM and is never transmitted to any remote server other than the user's own local backend.
• User configuration – The Extension stores the following items locally using chrome.storage.local: affiliate account name, local backend URL (default: http://localhost:5001), link-check interval, and operational state flags. This data never leaves the user's device.

3. Data the Extension Does NOT Collect

• No personal data is collected, transmitted, or shared with any third party.
• No browsing history outside of affiliate-program.amazon.com is accessed.
• No analytics, telemetry, or crash-reporting services are used.
• No cookies are read or written beyond what the Amazon Associates site sets for the logged-in session.

4. Local Backend Communication

The Extension communicates exclusively with a local backend service running on the user's own machine (http://localhost:5001). All scraped affiliate data is sent only to this local service. No data is forwarded to any cloud service, external API, or third-party server.

5. Permissions Used and Why

• storage – To save user configuration and state locally on the device.
• alarms – To schedule periodic background tasks (metrics scraping, link generation, offer checks) without requiring an open tab.
• tabs – To open and navigate background tabs on the Amazon Associates site for automated data extraction.
• scripting – To inject self-contained data-reading scripts into Amazon Associates pages after they have fully loaded.
• activeTab – To run immediate manual checks triggered by the user from the popup.
• host permission: affiliate-program.amazon.com – Required to access and interact with the Amazon Associates dashboard.
• host permission: localhost:5001 – Required to send extracted data to the user's own local database service.

6. Data Retention

All configuration data stored via chrome.storage.local remains on the user's device and can be cleared at any time by removing the Extension or clearing extension storage in Chrome settings.

7. Changes to This Policy

If this policy is updated, the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
